Oh, hey beauties!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Between work and summer classes, I have been so busy. I wanted to create a Summer Glow Series to give tips on achieving a flawless summer look. Glowing skin is beautiful and can be easily achieved. The first beauty tip I wanted to share with you all is on achieving soft, subtle lips.
Nobody wants dry, chapped lips, right? Especially when there’s SO many lip colors to wear all summer long. One way to keep your lips looking their best is by using a lip scrub. Lip scrubs can be applied to keep your lips looking their best.
I have really sensitive lips and I have to be careful what I apply to them. I’ve found some lip scrubs from Sephora, Ulta, and drug stores can be too harsh for my lips. Making my own lip scrub gives me control of how soft or coarse I want my scrub to be. My DIY lip scrub is so easy to make and tastes good too! The best part; all of the ingredients can be found right in your kitchen!
What you will need:
2 Tbsp of coconut oil
1 Tbsp of sugar
½ tsp of cinnamon
½ tbsp. of honey
Mix altogether and apply a generous amount to your lips. Scrub gently to exfoliate your lips. Rinse off with water and apply a chap stick, preferably one with SPF. Repeat twice a week.
The coconut oil and honey will help make your lips smooth while the sugar exfoliates the dead skin cells. The cinnamon is added as a natural lip plumper and by applying a lip balm after helps to seal in and protect those fresh, beautiful lips. Your lips will smell so yummy and I love that it’s all natural.
Stay tuned for my next beauty tip in my summer glow series!
