If you’re looking to plan a 6 day trip to Utah, Zion National Park area, then this is the guide for you! During my time in the desert there was so much to see in Zion as well as a couple day trips so I made sure to break everything down day by day!
Day 1: Travel Day
The closest airport to Zion National Park is LAS in Las Vegas. We rented a car and drove about 3 hours to our hotel, The Majestic Lodge which is basically in Zion. We were very tired from traveling so we relaxed in our room before dinner.
Where we ate: we had dinner at Zion Pizza and Noodles. They had the best tasting pizza and pasta! 10/10 recommend!
Day 2: Zion National Park
Since our lodge was that last Zion shuttle stop, we rode the shuttle to the park. Also note that the shuttle service is completely free! Once we got into the park, you have to pay for a pass. We got a pass for $35 for 2 people and it was good for 7 days. Then make your way to the National park shuttles that drives through the park and drops you off at your specific hike location. The shuttles run every 10-15 mins.
Hikes we did: Emerald pools, The Grotto and walked along the Narrows A lot of the hikes we planned to go on were closed due to weather conditions. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water!
Where we ate: We had dinner at Zion Brewery. The fish and chips + the tacos were delish!
Day 3: Day Trip to Bryce Canyon National Park
We decided to take a 2 hour drive over to Bryce Canyon to see the hoodoos! Bryce Canyon is super unique- you have to hike down to see the views but going back up is a little strenuous especially when it’s cold and windy! It was the most stunning thing I’ve ever seen!
Hikes we did: Peek a boo trail, Queens Garden trail, and Rim trail. If hiking isn’t your thing you can always drive up to the overlooks and see everything from up there.
Where we ate: We had dinner at Bit & Spur back in Zion. The food was delish! We got the sweet potato tamales and Brie and pepper jelly quesadillas! Also, their mojito mocktail + jalapeño margarita were delish! They have other vegan friendly options too! $
Day 4: Day Trip to Page, AZ
We decided to take a little day trip to Arizona. It was about 2 hours from our hotel lodge.
Hikes we did: We went to see horseshoe bend which was absolutely stunning. We also saw Glen Canyon dam and the hanging gardens + the new wave trail.
Where we ate: We loved Zion Pizza and noodle so much we ordered a pizza and brought it back to our room and had a cozy night in watching movies. $
Day 5: The Narrows at Zion Park
We were so tired to do anymore hiking so we decided to go walk along the Narrows again. The leaves were all changed and it had snowed earlier in the day. Many people hike in the water and you can rent the gear at the entrance of the park. It was way too cold for that in November. We also planned a sunset horse ride through East Zion Adventures but had to cancel due to the weather conditions.
Where we ate: We had a reservation to Switchback grill. The most amazing seafood I have tasted. 10/10 $$$ Also if you get a chance get a slice of bumbleberry pie from the Bumble Berry bakery + gift shop!
Day 6: Travel back home
We left early in the morning to drive back to Vegas to grab breakfast and drop off our rental car.
If you’re planning to cross a desert vacation off your bucket list like I did, I hope this guide is helpful to you! 😊
