2017 will always be one of the most memorable years of my life! Marrying my best friend and getting to spend forever together was what i was most looking forward to in 2017. I promise i will have a wedding recap up possibly on our 1 year anniversary! So be on the look out for that. We gained a new addition to our family this year! I finally have a sweet niece who was born in July! We have slowly been getting our house together, but we still have a ton to do. I think its best to take our time designing and finding pieces we really want rather than spending money on spontaneous pieces. I love these reflection posts so I can look back at the years to come and see how much I’ve grown.
I celebrated 2 years of blogging on Glam Fit Foodie! I really wanted to challenge myself and grow more with my little blog in 2017 & I did. I worked hard, received some amazing opportunities and met some inspiring bloggers. I am going to have the same ambition and goals for the new year and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future. Everyone seems to love my beauty posts which i love because they are my favorite to create. Its fun to try things and share what genuinly works. I received several opportunities that i turned down because the products just weren’t something that I was comfortable promoting. I just love sharing products and tips with you all and I would never share something I didn’t love or use.
One topic I want to talk more about on my blog this year is home decor. We have a lot of progression planned with our home this year, so there will be tips and ideas for home decor coming this year. I love designing and finding pieces for less that look more expensive. Seeing everything I envision come to life makes me so happy. I’m glad Mike has an opinion on things and helps me decide which pieces to buy.
Last year I made it a point to take care of my health and i am so glad I did. I have suffered from migraines for years and if you have them you know my pain! After countless migraine medications I decided to see a chiropractor and boy am I glad I did! After xrays, this is what he found: My neck is curved the opposite direction, 2 of my vertebrates have arthritis, my atlas bone was pushed to the right side (where I experience my migraines) and my lower back is curved with a starting formation of scoliosis! The Dr said no wonder I was in so much pain all the time and didn’t know how I functioned daily. I’ve been seeing him for the past 2 months, 2 days a week. I feel better than I’ve felt in years! I’ve had a migraines maybe 2 times since I’ve been going and I would get them 4-5 times a week! I encourage everyone to take care of themselves and don’t put things off!
Staying on the healthy track, I want to try to lose weight and gain muscle mass to the point where I am comfortable. I want to encourage myself to exercise at least 3x a week. I may try a juice cleanse for a week or something to reset my body. I have a big sweet tooth and want to limit the amount of sweets I eat in a week.
In 2018, I am most looking forward to nourishing my mind and soul with positivity and encouragement. I want to continue to work hard and be kind each and every day. I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for me. I’m ready for ya!
Thank you to all of you for following and supporting Glam Fit Foodie. I can’t wait to create new content for you all in 2018! I wish you all a Happy new year of love and wishes beyond your wildest dreams!
“We fall in love by chance, but stay in love by choice.”💕
Mike and I celebrated 8 years together yesterday on 1.30.17. I can hardly believe that 8 years have come and gone, but the memories we’ve made in that time will stay with us forever. We met when I was 19 and he was 22. We’ve grown through our adult years together, from college to buying a house!
We celebrated by doing what we do every anniversary- breakfast, romantic couples massage and dinner at Carrabas! It’s sort of our annual tradition and I love it!! It was our last anniversary until we start celebrating our wedding anniversary!
In less than 3 weeks, we will become husband and wife, partners for life! We cannot be anymore excited. ❤️ we still have so much to do in such a short time. Hopefully I can keep my sanity and it’ll all work out!
I know I haven’t been very good at keeping up with my wedding belles series, but I will try to make a wrap up post of where I got everything and things like that. Everything will be linked, too!
Smiling & laughing my way into 2017! New year means new goals to set and obtain as well as new exciting adventures to look forward to. Every year I never really set a resolution for the year, but goals that I can obtain.
2016 was my year! I wanted to pass all of my classes (easy with lots of hard work), graduate with my bachelors( did it!) and get a career in my field (have it!). Along with all of those amazing things happening, we bought our first house and still planned for our wedding. Only 45 days! 💍
For 2017, I am most looking forward to marrying the man of dreams. Aside from that, I have a few goals that I would like to work towards.
I eat pretty healthy now and have been working on getting better at it. Hopefully my health issues get better too so I can be the best me.
Be more adventurous
Since Mike and I have been so busy with school the past couple of years we never really had time to do adventurous things together. It was always school, work and study. We’re going to make a point to create new memories beyond our wedding!
Be more present
I am a big planner and I’m always planning well ahead. It can be both a blessing and a curse. I am always prepared for things, but sometimes I forget to live in the present moment. Like last year with school I was so focused on obtaining my goals, that everything happened so fast and I couldn’t grasp it all at once. I was overwhelmed and sick. Being present is definitely something I want to accomplish this year.
I’ve always been told that I’m too nice and I always grew up thinking it was a bad thing. Now that I’m older, I’m glad I’m a sweet person because you don’t find many people these days who are. I want to learn to worry less about what others think about me and just live my dreams. I’ve always been so nervous about writing this blog and I’ve hid it for so long from people I know in fear of what others would say. I’ve slowly been featuring it more and I’m so glad that I did!
2017 I’m ready for ya! What are some of your goals and resolutions? I’d love to hear them!
Blogmas day 5! 🎄 December is for decorating, baking, & cozying up to your loved ones! One of my favorite things to do is make a big cup of hot cocoa + extra marshmallows and cozy up in some cute jammies with a Christmas movie.
Drinking hot cocoa is one of my favorite memories with Mike. We went and had hot cocoa for our first date & spent endless hours talking about the most random things. (Some things haven’t changed!)
Some of my favorite Christmas movies range from old to new. It’s a Wonderful life & Miracle on 34th Street are two of the classic Christmas movies that are a must see every year for me! They just have that Christmas feel to them that makes me feel christmasy inside.
Growing up The Santa Clause, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Mickeys Once Upon a Christmas, & A Christmas Carol were some of my favorites.
Hallmark movies have become my favorite over the past couple of years. I love the romance and the fact that they’re set during Christmas just gives me all the feels!
My family is always so wild and we have the best laughs. During Christmas, the Griswolds in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation make me laugh just as hard. Crazy kids like Kevin from Home alone & Ralphie from A Christmas Story keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what they’ll do next (although I’ve seen them both a million times).
So cozy up, grab a cup of hot cocoa & get into the Christmas spirit! 🎄⛄️☕️
What are your favorite Christmas movies? Maybe I can add some new ones to my list!
